Does Every Child Need to Go to College?

That’s the question on my mind this week.  After all, if young people want to go into a trade profession, don’t they need training in the trade and not other things, like literature or history?  Trade schools could also integrate the business courses necessary to help them establish their own businesses after graduation.   So, why are all the education reform pundits and educational researchers stressing the importance of a child going to college?  Is it just because mainstream American seems to think that is what every child needs to do?  I’m just wondering if we shouldn’t consider improving trade education instead of pushing every child toward college.
